Poljot Dolphin Amphibia Diver Reastoration Update.

Following on from my previous post,i approached this next stage of the restoration of my Poljot Dolphin Amphibia with some trepidation.I have done minor repairs to my watches before, particularly hand replacement, but i do know what a pain it can be,and how ,sometimes it doesn't always go to plan, and Stephen Burrage is sometimes left to pick up the pieces.
I have never attempted reluming before, but that turned out to be the easy part, the first picture is of a hand set[from just received Amphibia, photo previous post].
As you can see the hands are upside down waiting for reluming,on toothpicks, the only thing i could find that was acceptable.I used white and green Burgeon lume for both watches.
As you can see from this picture of the poljot Dolphin, when i originaly received it,it had wrong handset on,and wrong caseback.

I already had the correct case back, and was lucky enough to drop onto an original hour and minute hand, although they were the wrong colour[hence the reluming ].and when i received the other Amphibia i had my Large central seconds hand.
The reluming went o.k,maybe the white on the hands is a bit to white?
But,i have never had a watch, including Chrono`s,where, the handset was so difficult to get right,it took me most of the day,as ever in these situations, its best to leave it when you become frustrated, and come back to it.
But in the end i am very pleased with the result.
I will be returning to the `Green` Amphibia mentioned in the previous post, when i receive the other central seconds hand.

  1. Great work! It is amazing how much of a difference the little details make. Did you get the lume from Cousins?
