Another Vostok Precision added.

Just received this Vostok Precision, joining the others in my collection, its in quite excellent condition,as you would expect from[an admittedly underrated]Chronometer,it keeps superior time.

These Vostok/Volna Precisions were tested to Chronometer standards,[slightly different to COSC],10 Days testing instead of 15,temperature 0`c, +20`C, + 40`C.
Note the Micro regulator on Balance Cock.

I bought this watch from an extremely trusted seller and am very pleased with it,have put it on a rather sudden, quality ,Ostrich strap.

  1. Another great addition! You should take a group photo of your collection when you have some spare time :)

  4. Nice one! How much does it costs in market (approx)? My friend have almost the same watch, but letter B (V) is long, above all other letters. Must be older version?

  5. Hello Janis,
Thank you for your kind coments.
It is hard to value a watch with out seeing it.
    Depending on condition,anywhere between £35 to £100.
    I hope this helps.
    Best Regards,
    Russ.

  7. Thank you for sending the photos.
It is a shame, because it is quite an early rare dial,as you said.
Because of its condition,it would not make economic sense to pay for a full restoration, unless, your friend has some Family conection to it,perhaps?
    Regards,
    Russ.

  8. Those older versions of Vostok precission are not so valuable? How many versions actualy there are of vostok precission?
Wostok is a export model, Vostik middle age and Vostok with rocket V oldest version? We can't find any catalog for this kind of watch.

    Best regards
    Janis

  9. Hello Janis,
As i have said,it is very hard to talk about value, its such a subjective subject, but condition is everything.
Again, hard to say,i am still finding different versions of Vostok Precision, recently i found a black dialled military type,[pictured .in my Vostok precision section,on right hand side of blog],that i never thought exhisted.
Yours is as you now,a version for domestic market, and is rare.
    Regards,
    Russ.

  10. How to take out the mechanism of watch? And would you recommend to clean old dial?

  11. Hello Janis,
Sorry for the delay in reply.
If you have never dismantled movement i would not recomend that you do it. Especially if the watch is important to you.Try to practice on some old non working movements first.
First you have to release the crown,by pushing in little button on movement, just opposit, crown,[look carefully, its the only one without screw head].Be very gentle when you remove it.Some times there are two retaining screws north and south of movement.
I would never recomend cleaning dial, mainly because it is almost impossible to do.
    Best Regards,
    Russ.

  12. Thanks for advice, i'll practise on vostok komandirskie then :)
It seems that watch is missing rubber sealing on back panel, thats why there could be water inside of watch, making dial dirty.
